BHS LIBRARY RECEIVES GIFT FROM LOCAL COMMUNITY MEMBER TO EXPAND LGBT+ BOOK COLLECTION

Sixteen new LGBT+ titles are available in the BHS Library! Local community member, Jackie Summers, gifted the school with a monetary donation support and provide resources to the LBGT+ BHS community.

The importance of young adult books for all readers cannot be understated! Through the pages of books, students can find validation of their own lives by connecting with like-minded characters. LGBT+ young adult books are no exception to this!

The books purchased were researched and and all are highly reviewed, many of which are award-winning titles. They represent a variety of topics in LGBT+ young adult fiction, ranging from fantasy to real life, and they focus on the types of issues that teenage LGBT individuals often face in today’s world with themes that are sensitive as well as positive in nature.
